Located between the villages of Cirueña and Ciriñuela, in the heart of the north of La Rioja, Upper Rioja , set in magnificent scenery in the world famous Rioja wine producing area, we find Rioja Alta Golf Club. With four majestic lakes and surrounding a large centuries-old-oak forest, Rioja Alta Golf Club is considered one of the most unique and versatile courses in the north of Spain
The “Residencial Rioja Alta Golf Club” is situated in between the municipalities of Cirueña and Ciriñuela, right in the heart of the Upper Rioja. It is just 5 km from the famous cathedral of Santo Domingo de la Calzada, and 12 km from the beautiful town of Ezcaray and its renowned ski resort. Designed by Enrique Saenger, the course offers one of the most versatile, spectacular and beautiful rounds in the North of Spain. The course is laid out around a large area of leafy woodland, with ancient oak trees and 4 majestic lakes which form a specially protected natural area in the interior. The 18 hole par-72 course has a total length of 6,461 metres from the white tee. There are a large number of tee positions, with some distance between them, and uphill and downhill holes of varying length, with water hazards and a variety of playing situations. Over the length of the course we will find 101 sand and grass bunkers strategically located on the fairways and in the vicinity of the large, deep greens. The club has a magnificent golf school and a practice course in a class of its own, with additional approach, bunker and putting green areas.
