The intense professional activity of Robert Trent Jones, one of the most famous golf course designers, reached a peak in 1969 with the opening of the Real Club de Golf Las Brisas. The designer created a course which demands accuracy on the part of players and where it is not enough to hit long shots, but rather you have to use your head. The layout contains a lot of water hazards, ten artificial lakes, ample protection from bunkers and greens which are mostly raised. All of this lies in a unique natural setting. The numerous professional tournaments which have been hosted throughout the history of the club include two World Cups, three Spanish International Opens and the first Mediterranean Open.
