A beautiful course and a very difficult one, where the stars of the round are the trees and the numerous big lakes. It’s a long course suitable for big hitters, though accuracy is also essential from the tee as the greens are surrounded by water. Everyone who has had the pleasure of walking its fairways has gone away with a positive impression of the course and, more than anything else, it’s a course which inspires the respect of both amateurs and more experienced players alike. With its naturally undulating terrain, the fairways can seem quite narrow when you are driving off from the tee but they open up for the second shot before reaching greens which are wide but full of secrets. The PGA de Cataluña hosts tests on the European Circuit and it is one of the newest courses of the Tour. The Sarazen World Open Championship was played there in October 1999 and the Spanish Peugeot Open was held there from the 28th April to the 2nd of May 2000. In the same year the course was host to the European Seniors Qualifying School.
