The Banco Santander golf course is in gentle harmony with the undulating borders of the land that surrounds the new headquarters of the Banco Santander in the municipality of Boadilla del Monte, only 16 kilometres from the centre of Madrid.
This space, until recently severely degraded, has been reclaimed for the golf and nature buffs alike. The designer, the North American architect Rees Jones, defines it as a demanding golf course that is both frank and noble at the same time. Its 18 holes, par 72 and nearly seven thousand metres long make this golf course one of the longest in the world. A difficult test even for the most experienced players. However, if the strategically situated 68 bunkers and the multiple lakes and streams didn't increase the difficulty of the game, the 4,888 metres from the nearest tee would be a pleasant walk even for beginners.
