The course at Empordà Golf consists of 36 holes divided between two 18-hole rounds: Links and Forest. It was designed by Robert Von Hagge who successfully integrated a links-style area with large lakes, dunes and extensive bunkers into a Mediterranean landscape, to give us dense and well maintained pinewoods and wide fairways. He was aided in this task by the exceptional beauty of the natural surroundings in the Baix Empordà, in the very heart of the Costa Brava. With the inauguration of the last 9 holes the course now offers two 18-hole rounds: the first runs between dunes and lakes in the style of the best Scottish links courses, and the second winds its way between pine trees and lakes in the more Mediterranean forest style. At the end of the 90s the course was declared one of the 10 best courses in Spain and voted 13th best design in continental Europe by the 1996 Peugeot Golf Guide. The course was permanent host for the PGA Pre-Qualifying School II European Tour, and since 2002 and 2003 has hosted the Final of the PGA Qualifying School European Tour.
