El Club de Golf Río Real is in a superb location, just 3 km from Marbella city centre. It is built on terrain which slopes gently down to the sea, so many of the holes provide magnificent views of the Mediterranean. The course is not particularly rugged and it crosses four times the river which gives the Club and the Hotel their name. In general the greens are quite flat, very well maintained and protected by the surrounding bunkers. The 4th is especially worth mentioning due to its outstanding beauty and its fairway which runs down towards the beach. The 10th, a dogleg to the right, leads out onto the spectacular tee of the 11th, where you have a great view down onto the green which is situated on the other side of the river
